A blog about a girl who lives in the suburbs but dreams of living on a farm. Instead of dreaming, she IS using what she has and turning her backyard into a farm...well as much as is allowed in the burbs...frugalness, recipes, practical household ideas and tips will be discussed along with gardening and other backyard farmgirl subjects...All with a Biblical perspective
I LOVE the chamomille in the wooden box. I have a few of them around and chamomille is one herb I don't have yet. Anyone know if the deer will eat that? They haven't touched my other herbs all these years so I'll trust that it would be safe.
ReplyDeleteThey haven't touched it yet.....I'm hoping they don't like it...it is really taking off this year. I hope to dry it later in the season and have chamomile tea this winter! Keep me posted on your garden efforts.
ReplyDeleteI did copy your idea and planted chamomille seeds in a wooden box and placed it in my flower bed 2 weeks ago. Only a few little sprouts have come up. I guess I planted too deep or something. I was tempted to go buy the plants but have been trying so hard not to get lured into the instant gratification thing and stay true to starting whatever I can from ground zero (seed). I've been thrilled with "from seed" results w/tomatoes, swiss chard, carrots, etc. but this chamomille is testing my strength. I'll give it another week.
